What we covered

Conversation and grammar

The lesson practised describing what people do during a normal day. Important structures included the singular agreement of la gente, stem-changing verbs such as empezar and almorzar, the reflexive verb despertarse, and present-tense descriptions of common jobs.

The most useful reviewed patterns are:

La gente camina por la calle. — la gente takes a singular verb.
Él empieza a trabajar a las nueve. — empezar changes e to ie in this form.
Pido comida a domicilio. — a natural way to say that food is ordered for delivery.
Depende del año. — depender requires de.
Viena está en el este. — locations use estar.
Esto lleva tiempo. — often more natural than a literal use of tomar tiempo.

Vocabulary

The lesson covered meals (desayuno, almuerzo, cena, merienda), dimensions (profundidad, altitud, altura, anchura, tamaño), everyday technology (cargador, inalámbrico, estuche), and work vocabulary (paciente, recetar, derivar, tema, materia).

Homework

The tutor provided Tarea Trabajo (A1).docx. The task is: write five present-tense sentences describing actions Daniel performs during a normal workday. The original file is preserved and was visually checked; its searchable text is archived alongside it.

Recommended follow-up

Revisit the corrected homework sentences and practise the recurring agreement and preposition patterns. Use the new lesson subdeck to practise the high-value patterns instead of memorizing the full vocabulary list in isolation.

Probé is the preterite of probar. Amargo describes a bitter taste.

Desayunar, almorzar, and cenar are verbs formed from the names of the three main meals.

A veces meriendo por la tarde.

Pedir means to ask for or order. A domicilio means delivered to your address.

Depender requires de: depende de plus a noun or idea.

Creo que introduces an opinion. Creo que sí is useful when confirming a possibility.

Estoy en el oeste y Viena está en el este.

Also: Yo estoy en el oeste; Viena queda en el este.

Use estar for locations. Quedar is a natural alternative for where a place is located.

Argentina está en América del Sur.

Recetar means to prescribe. The optional les repeats the indirect object a los pacientes.
