Vocabulary and pronunciation

Recent travel, practical vocabulary, Argentinian variants, and alphabet pronunciation.

What we covered

Conversation

Daniel described a trip involving Philadelphia and Miami, visiting the office, and having a drink with colleagues. The class expanded this into travel, work, football, objects, stores, emotional adjectives, and pronunciation.

Key distinctions

  • emocionado describes how a person feels; emocionante describes something that creates excitement.
  • aterrizar means to land; despegar means to take off.
  • alcanzar un objetivo means to achieve a goal.
  • estar lleno / vacío describes capacity or occupancy.
  • valija, lamparita, and diario are common Argentinian choices.
  • In Argentina, the letter names be larga and ve corta help distinguish B and V.

Homework

The homework reviewed articles and ser/estar in a short story about Julia visiting Clara. The worksheet itself contains learner annotations; cards use corrected Spanish rather than copying incorrect filled answers.

Outcome

The lesson produced a reviewed set of practical sentence cards and pronunciation prompts in the subdeck 2026-07-21 – Vocabulary & Pronunciation.
